Technology... can't live with it, can't live without it.

We are living in a world where Telehealth and technology solutions are here to stay.  It is important to get yourself set up with the right software to optimize your practice, protect your patient information and connect with your patients.

So many options... what should I choose?!

Here are a few suggestions that I have for you when managing new client intakes and having a secure system to store notes, send virtual intake forms, etc.  It is entirely up to you if you want to use a web based solution to store your forms.  However, as we are moving into the world of Telehealth and working from home, it is nice to have the added security of a HIPAA compliant software solution. If you are seeing patients via Telehealth, this platform can be one and the same!

NOTE: Most of these have a free trial, so if you are not happy with your platform, you can always switch.  :)

Doxy.me (for Telehealth)

As Doxy.me is a hyperlink to join for a new Telehealth session, this allows it to integrate to your forms on really any EHR platform.  As we will be handling your billing, you do not need to pay for a platform that has claims capability other than the collection of funds for your private practice sessions (if you start offering these) and/or co-pays that need to be collected from clients.

This link will explain how doxy can be put into any form: https://help.doxy.me/en/articles/95905-do-you-provide-an-api-to-integrate-with-custom-apps

If you stay with Doxy.me, I would suggest getting a REALLY simple and easy solution to manage your schedule, send clients forms, etc.

Here is a great one to use for these purposes: IntakeQ Pricing Model .  This solution also offers a $10 add on for a Telehealth platform.

Don't want to use an online EHR Solution?

If you choose not to use an EHR, here is a link to recommendations on best practices for keeping clients files secure.  As we are moving more towards Telehealth solutions and away from being in an office, it is always nice to have the added security of a HIPAA compliant platform to keep your notes and documentation secure.

If you want to forgo the EHR platform and use Hushmail to put together and send forms, this link will take you through how to create those: How to Create Hushmail Forms.  This is the pricing model and a little more information on Hushmail: Hushmail Pricing and Info

Most of the platforms that I mentioned above will have templates that you can use for client intakes, etc.  We have a lot of therapists that are currently using Simple Practice to manage this as they do not need to pay the added fees for billing and can go with the "Essentials" solution.
