An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) may provide a limited number of counseling sessions through a person’s employer-sponsored benefit. EAP benefits and billing rules vary by program.
Before scheduling an EAP referral, Help Therapy will confirm the client’s eligibility, authorization dates and remaining sessions, whether the provider participates in that EAP, and the program’s billing requirements. Please send the referral and any EAP authorization information to referrals@helptherapy.com.
Do not assume that every EAP visit uses CPT 99404, that sessions renew by diagnosis or calendar year, or that participation in a client’s health insurance network automatically includes EAP participation. The service code, claims process, payment terms, and any client cost sharing must be confirmed for the specific program.
